We depart Knoxville this morning to begin our exciting Christmas Shopping trip in the Big Apple . . . New York City. Traveling through Upper East Tennessee and the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, we will stop for lunch at Salem. After lunch we continue to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, for our first overnight stop.
Today we depart Chambersburg for New York City. Upon arrival in New York City, we will visit the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. The Memorial is a national tribute of remembrance and honor to the 2,983 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. Occupying eight of the 16 acres at the World Trade Center, the Memorial is a tribute to the past and a place of hope for the future. Inscribed in bronze around the twin memorial pools are the names of all who lost their life. There will be time for shopping in the city before checking into our hotel for a two night stay in Secaucus, New Jersey. If anyone wishes to go to the theatre we will take you into the city for a show either tonight or tomorrow night. Be sure to get your tickets while in the city.
We will drive into the city this morning for a full day of holiday shopping; or if you prefer, seeing the sights and holiday decorations throughout the city. Wewill offer two shuttles during the day if you finish shopping early and need torest at the hotel. Maybe you prefer to see a matinee of a leading Broadway play. Be sure to see the huge Christmas tree at Rockefeller Plaza.
We will drive into the city again this morning after checking out of our hotel for more shopping or seeing the sights. Be sure to have lunch before meeting the motorcoach this afternoon for our trip to Hershey, Pennsylvannia for our last night. We will visit Chocolate World, a good place to help you fill those Christmas Stockings with special CHOCOLATE treats. We continue to Chambersburg, PA for our last night.
This morning we depart Hershey for our return trip to Knoxville ending our exciting Holiday Shopping Spree in New York City. Hope you completed your Christmas shopping so that you can relax and enjoy the remainder of the season with friends and family in the Tennessee tradition.
