6 Day New York City Macy’s Day Parade
We depart Knoxville this morning to begin our exciting Thanksgiving holiday in the Big Apple . . . New York City. Traveling through Upper East Tennessee and the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, we will stop for lunch at Salem. After lunch, we continue to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, for our first overnight stop.
Today we depart Chambersburg for New York City. We will spend three nights in the heart of New York City. Upon arrival, we will visit the National September 11 Memorial before checking into our hotel. We will attend an afternoon performance of the world-famous Rockettes intheir Magnificent Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. Theevening is free for a leisurely dinner or to attend the play of your choice.
This morning we will enjoy the pageantry of “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade”. Strike up the Band! As this fabulous parade passes by you will marvel at the beautiful floats, marching bands and dignitaries in special costumes….and for the youngsters of all ages, the “jolly ole man” from the North Pole will join the festivities. After the parade we will board our motorcoach for a guided tour of New York City. You will see upper and lower Manhattan, the Empire State Building, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Chinatown and much more. Thanksgiving Dinner (included) this evening.
Today is free for you to enjoy some shopping time in New York’s popular department stores, visit the museums of your choice, take a carriage ride in Central Park, or just relax and see the sights on your own. This evening we will see a leading Broadway Play.
This morning we will board our motorcoach for Liberty State Park where we catch the ferry from Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island . . .you may choose either or both since the ferry offers shuttles between the two islands. We continue to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, for overnight.
This morning we depart Chambersburg for our return trip to Knoxville, and as always, all good things too soon must end. . .as does this wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday made possible by Knoxville Tours. This isdefinitely one holiday that will go down in our scrapbooks as one of thebest Thanksgivings— one that you will want to repeat!
